RIP Kyle Busch. He died today Possibly due to a severe illness. He was not my favorite driver, he was an arrogant asshole in the past. In the last few years, he mellowed considerably to the point where he was becoming well respected for his personality. He was always a great driver and fierce competitor. He had a bad sinus infection and required medical assistance two races ago. He is a big loss to the sport!

Very sad. Praying for his family. Never liked him until he left gibbs and learned some lessons and entered a new phase in life.

RIP Sonny Rollins I’ve had this print of a painting of him by Leonid Afremov hanging on my wall for a long time

Dexter Wansel. In high school, his smooth R&B and Jazz Fusion style had me appreciate his albums and this cut. It was said that he brought synthesizer to R&B. A couple of years ago, a revisit gave me appreciation for the bass line. R.I.P.

First time I’ve heard of him. Great tune. Thanks for sharing. I just created a playlist with his 4 studio albums from 1976 to 1979. R.I.P. brother.

“One of his last partnerships was with Behringer, announced in July 2021. They worked together to re-release the Polivoks Synthesizer as a clone. To this day, the synth has not been released. With his death, the synth’s future is now uncertain.”

@terb fyi

i have a feeling this will light a fire at behringer, at least i hope it will. love him or hate him, that main guy there is a huge synth nerd

Uli’s synth division has been absolutely taking over the industry already. I’ve owned two. The Prophet Pro-One clone I owned sounded exactly like the original and frankly was better made. For $300. This is approximately 1/10th of the used cost of a flaky as fook original Sequential which at this point is a museum piece.

Love how they are flirting with Yaz in the intro :rofl:

Gets in to a bit of the Puppy there at 7:30 too

I’m very happy to ignore synths. I’m not good with the endless combinations. It would paralyze me.

Analysis Paralysis is definitely a thing. There’s ways to deal with it though. Lots of people in to randomization as a creative strategy, artificial limitations, starting from presets, etc

One of the widely hailed features of my current hardware synth is it elevates randomization to a first class parameter complete with controls to map it and control how much “spice” it adds
