i would love to see you do a cover of one of the Kansas songs, some of Robby Stienhardt Violin playing is awesome, and now your learning bass you can add the bass in the covers as well

I was Army, too. 7 years enlisted, 10 commissioned. Was in 2d ID, 10th Mountain, 25th ID, then strategic assignments.

I only did 3 active and 3 reserves. I year of “boots on the ground” in Nam 68-69, Communications Specialist, Americal Division in Chu Lai.

Anybody that could keep comms up in that environment (and I mean all aspects of environment) gets my salute. My roommate in Korea was our commo guy and he was always the busiest guy in the battalion. Thank you for all you did

My name is Paul Dalton. I never had musical ability, but I always wished I did.
I never expressed it to anyone, I guess I thought people wouldn’t be supportive about it.
I’m an electrician by trade, so mechanical ability isn’t an issue.
However, I got 3xl hands and hot dog size fingers.
So, things other people find easy are a little difficult for me. Things Like string accuracy and lightning speeds.
What i do have is commitment. And the ability to patiently work until I get it. And if I don’t get it, I work harder.
My friend ( he’s an amazing musician) says that makes up for the things I lack, because wanting to and continuing to try make the player.
And man is it sweet when it clicks. When it’s just flowing, and my hands are doing what they can do now.
I only been playing since 16 may 2021. But I can say that unless I’m incarcerated or imprisoned, I’ll have a bass in my hands every day for the rest of my life.
I got my new schecter custom 4 yesterday, straight from my " I have a dream" section.I don’t know that I’ve ever smiled this much-and I owe Josh and the team at bassbuzz a huge thank you for this!

When I used to play trumpet, I once said to my instructor “I can’t get my fingers coordinated enough to play fast”.
His response - “So play slow then”.
You don’t have to worry about playing lightening fast.
On sax I am constantly looking for songs to turn into ballads that are fast to start, its actually fun.
Net/net, plenty to play slower if the speed doesn’t ever come. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to.
