Welcome @jacq
Hello @jacq! You’ll find that this forum has the nicest and most helpful folks around!
Hi y’all. My name is David. I live at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, I just purchased my first bass. Total newbie, as in no experience whatsoever. I am 64 years old and at this point I feel like I have 5 thumbs on each hand. Thanks for allowing me here to help learn.
Official welcome to the forums David @K8DFI
Like you, I was a total newbie when I first joined but I’ll tell you now…this group of people here in the forum are wonderful. It’s a great community and everyone is super helpful.

Welcome @K8DFI enjoy the B2B lessons. Starting with ten thumbs is pretty normal.
Welcome! I’m glad there are more people with too Many thumbs. Enjoy this course. Let’s make some damn noise!
Welcome to all the new low-end lovers. Good group of people here and the friendliest forum on the webz!
@K8DFI Hi David! I’m also 64 and picked up the bass for the first time! I’ve only been at it for about a week and a half. Josh is a great instructor, when on the lessons and workouts if there’s something you’re not clear on, just ask him, he will respond.
Where you live sounds beautiful
@chinochingon Hi Ed! I looked at the Fender lessons after I received my bass (Fender Squier mini). Then I saw B2B, checked out the free lessons, decided I needed more structure and bought the lessons. So happy I did! I’m on Module 2, having fun learning! My Hubs is a drummer, my goal is to be able to jam with him.
Welcome! Always happy to see another person pick up the goodness.
