Crank it to 10, right? ![]()
Hello @Drex and @uttaraag , welcome to the boards!
That sounds so interesting, I didn’t see a video of it on your YouTube though but perhaps I missed it.
Edit: nvm, found it! How fun! And good job! You’re quite talented!
Welcome @Drex
Have fun!

The P bass is my favourite bass tone and very versatile. Nice choice on Squier
Welcome @NolynValkcoeur I can second what @faydout said , a rumble 40 is MUCH nicer for bass, went from a 25 to a 40 myself and the difference is huge
Get the 100. You won’t regret it. Way better speaker in it and you’ll be ready to jam with others better with that versus the 40.

Do it. That’s a great price. Either the 40 or 100 are good. The 100 is more than you need, but not “too much” that you need to “earn”.
Go with the first one of those two you get a solid deal on used. If it’s a toss up, get the 100. You won’t regret it. It just means you’ll practice with the volume at 30% instead of 50%.
The 200 and the 25 are the ones I recommend against. The 200 is nearly the same price and weight as the 500, for the same performance of the 100. The 25 is just “meh”, and the 40 is waaay better.
“Tone” is literally a volume control that only turns down higher frequencies. So you have a range from “Full Tone” to “Zero Tone” like you do with volume.
Functionally what this means is that full tone is… the way the bass sounds by default. Rolling off the tone flattens out or muffles the sound. It turns down the higher frequency harmonics. So you turn down the tone when you want your sound to be more muted or less “brite”.
Metal, Pop, New Wave, or Slap: Tone Full On
Country or Grunge: Tone ~50%
Reggae or Hip Hop: Tone Off
Just signed up, so hi!
Just picked up bass in September after a few years of waffling about it. Squier p-bass and a Fender Rumble 15 (I knew I was going to be traveling, so a small amp and headphones were the way to go for now). I’ve been noodling on guitar since 2002 or so, first acoustic and then electric too. Never “got good” but played enough to wear grooves in the frets of my acoustic (another Squier, still have it, still play it). Brings me joy, you know? I also played woodwinds in school band class back in the 1990s.
Anyway, learning bass has been a blast (and improved my guitar playing, too). No lessons yet, just watching a lot of YouTube videos (which is how I found my way here), learning a few songs, etc. Haven’t done B2B yet because of The Shutdown, but it’s on my list of things to do once the paychecks start coming again, and I’m looking forward to it a lot.
Welcome @J.Davis and enjoy!
Welcome!
Sucks about the paycheques not coming in, but maybe that means more time for bass?

Alas, still have to work; but studying and playing music is a great way to relieve existential stress! ![]()
