Is the government about to come clean on UFOs?

ETs come from France as we all know

Well one thing is for sure. For the pentagon to step in to shut down the congressional investigation into UFOs they’re definitely hiding something. If they weren’t then they’d have no problem opening the subject for public scrutiny.

Whether it’s aliens or secret military crafts I don’t know. But they’re definitely hiding something.

Occam’s razor, it’s probably because they don’t want the full capability of the FLIR pods that video was shot on to be public. I have been wondering about that since the first video.

The fact that these got out at all and that the Navy confirmed they happened tells me this is likely a training exercise and a big in-joke among the pilots. If you have ever been in the military you will immediately understand what I mean.

I understand what you are saying. Former Marine here.

well, as long as someone refuses to accept the explanation for what they are, i guess they can claim they’re unidentified… but being unidentified doesn’t mean anything. Photographs are filled with unidentified objects all the time. I’ve eaten a lot of unidentified fried objects. UFO/UAP only have significant meaning if you try to ascribe some kind of clandestine cause to them… or maybe if you’re a researcher looking to get a grant to research UFO/UAP

I’ve watched several of the videos, at least one appears to have/be artifacts related to how the FLIR system works. The one of the object travelling fast above the water is likely not travelling anywhere near as fast as people claim it is and it’s most likely some kind of bird.

Just because they’re pilots and trained observers doesn’t mean they can identify everything or they don’t have crazy ideas about little green men. Many people are not very good at critical thinking and avoiding biases; they’re trained in a pretty narrow scope and often not good outside of that.

In the videos i’ve seen, the guys sound like they’re just having some fun.

This quite true but I think a lot of the time the observer could identify what he is seeing if he put in some time to understand a few things.

For instance there are thousands of satellites that are visible to the naked eye. The International Space Station can be viewed on most nights with clear skies, and low light pollution, with relative ease.

A good program for seeing what is up there at any given time is an open source program that is free and available at https://stellarium.org/

Satellite tracks are predictable but what if you were viewing what you thought was a satellite and after watching it traverse the sky for 30 seconds all of a sudden it’s track changed by 90 degrees INSTANTLY and continued on the new track. Nobody has been able to explain how that is possible with any aircraft we currently have let alone explain how anything could survive the G forces applied in such maneuvers at the speeds they are traveling, assuming of course there is a pilot.
As a reference the International Space Station is traveling at 8 km per second or 17,900 mph.

Two things here that I find interesting!

@Darryl, I think there might be a number of reasons to shut down an investigation: cost, government secrets, purposelessness (nothing would come of either disclosing or not), … So, what do you think - is a cover up the only explanation, and why?

This one’s not directed at Darryl! What I find hilarious is the second instance of this argument: “This is why nobody trusts the government” - Does really nobody trust the government?

And most things are identified, by someone. People are very bad at identifying things they’re unfamiliar with which is probably why the people who spend a lot of time looking at the sky, who are familiar with objects in it: astronomers, don’t report many UFO/UAP.

As an aside, humans are also not very good at identifying things they’re not expecting, even if the are familiar with them: it’s called “inattentional blindness”.

I love this thread. Seriously.

Precisely. To me it sounds like typical training exercise comms banter.

Conspiracy theorists would go absolutely nuts at some of the peacetime training exercises I was in (or know of) if they were taken out of context.

This made me think of this song with a great bass line by Tina Weymouth.

After reporting several things over the years I do not report anything anymore.
The stock answer from the military is - “We cannot give you any information and will take it from here.”

I live within 10 miles of the main training base for the Canadian armed forces and I have never got any intelligent answers from any sources that might have had the answer so now I just keep things to myself. It is a waste of time and effort and who needs the ridicule that is bound to come.

It is interesting to note, however, that most police departments are required to report any public reports of an unusual celestial event to the military for further investigation.

Running the Ops Desk on nights in the RAF you’d regularly get UFO calls from the public. I was supposed to fill out a report every time.

Naturally, it’s their jurisdiction.

I just had a “what the” moment. I looked out the window to see the ocean, which is like a lake today, and caught my glasses at just the right angle. I saw a big hairy monster outside flying around with a whole bunch of legs. It was just a tiny fly crawling on my window, but for a couple seconds the angle was just right and it magnified so it looked like it was the size of a German shepherd.

If I were the military in the 50s I would have staged these “ufo” sightings so the Russkies et al would think we had super secret air technology and be afraid of us, or, stage super secret alien-friend technology and again be afraid of us. Denying it and keeping it hush hush means you never have to say “psyche! - we had nuttin”.

I’ve been out on the lake before and seen some weird stuff! One time, the water about 50 meters from me was undulating in a really strange manner that definitely wasn’t waves… Now I could have decided that it was Ogopogo but I watched it for a bit and realized it was a group of fish feeding. :slightly_smiling_face:
