I remember last year when Josh was going to Japan and was asking about buying a bass. I also went to Japan last year to do your average touristy stuff, including some geocaching, looking for guitar/bass stores and doing a pilgrimage for the anime “Bocchi the Rock”. I knew one of the locations I wanted to go to had all of those: Ochanomizu known as “Guitar Street/Road”.
I only had under an hour to spend there so I snagged the geocache at the start when I got there then I hit up a couple places that were shown in the last episode of season 1 for BtR. I didn’t get anything from those stores, but I made my way to the Shimokura store and had a blast there. Wall to wall guitars and basses!
I bought a couple guitar straps, some cool picks (Davas are AWESOME), and some BtR related items.
I would really like to return here and spend some more time at the stores without being rushed to go to our next destination.

Yeah Ochanomizu is a must visit for musicians. And not just for guitar, tons of shops focused on other instruments too.
Kurosawa Bass Annex is my overall favorite but I have bought instruments from Shimokura myself too.

My mate who went last year followed Howard’s directions and came back with a nice Strat for his son, he just returned from another trip and went again-sent pics of wall to wall LPs (only a few SGs tho) and a couple of basses.
I don’t think he was allowed to buy anything this time-I did ask for birthday Sake however.
