Learning new songs

@Jazzbass19

Of course you’re not.

Some may think my posts are long winded but my goal on any post is to make things understandable to everyone ESPECIALLY BEGINNERS. I do not like it when beginners give up because of frustration and I try to emphasize that they can accomplish what they want as long as they don’t give up and above all PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and ask questions. If you are stuck on something to the point of frustration set it aside and move on to something else BUT don’t give up on it and come back to it later. Oh yeh, it also helps to take notes.
Josh’s B2B course is the best I have ever seen for beginning bassists and this is primarily because of his teaching methods.

If you want a FREE COMPLETE 6 string acoustic/electric course check this site out

His teaching methods are similar to Josh’s.

I have always said that there is no such thing as a stupid question but there sure as heck are a lot of stupid answers :wink:

Been working I Want You Back for a while now. Still have not nailed it at speed but darn fun to play.

How are you doing with it?

BTW, have you heard this version…it is one of my all time faves…

SO this is weird in the best way – I did hear this version but had no idea who the band was. Thank you so much! I get a kick out of mixing funk with more alternative tones. My man can sing and growl, too – love that!

As for my playing, slow and steady won the race! I got it down in about a week of sincere practice. I will say that work was pretty light that week and I had an easier time to sit down for some long sessions of grinding it out. It was a lot like another Jackson staple, the well loved/hated Billie Jean. Fumbled through it for a bit, slept on it, and woke up with the magical ability to play it pretty close to perfect. The music fairies come at night it would seem!
