Loud but compact Combo in the EU? GR Bass, Ashdown or MarkBass?

I did that before, my son was playing on my 2 stacks Genzler’s knobs and I had muscle spasms that bothered me for weeks.

My main size limitation is my cargo bike since it’s 8-10km to both rehearsals spaces I sometimes go. Also I have some limitations in carrying with my hands, therefore 12kg on a handle is the most that I can carry easily for 5 flights of stairs.

Happy your are glad with your Katana. I own the Katana 100 MK I for my electric guitar, mostly for the 0,5 W mode which is a cool amp, too. Bought it before weight had become important.

Man that’s so cool.

Gotcha! Have you checked out the rumble 100 it’s 22lbs. Fender acquired Genz Benz (now Genzler) for the money they are terrific.

Will do later this month. Got no dealers around here but luckily I travel for work now and then thus can visit stores in the west.

Current things that I will be able to check out there:
– Rumble 100
– TE Elf Cab/Combo
– various MarkBass models
– maybe some 2x8 cabs to connect with a micro amp

Laney, GR Bass and Ashdown are out of reach though. I have seen an old MB150 from Gallien-Krueger which should weigh less than 12kgs for 400 Euros used but do not really know if it’s worth checking.

It’s great until they started offering GK sub-series. Then it’s pretty bad.

Check out Spark Cab too. It’s warm enough for bass. Not bad.

I love RB’s and Backlines though.

Faster than a car on these distances, at least equal. And plenty of fresh air. Also DUI is not such a thing like in the states where everyone drives to a bar. Got 10-15 drinking holes in a 15 minutes by foot radius in my area of my city

Is there a lot of difference from a 200w with the elf (1x10 or 2x8??) in comparison to the Rumble 100 with less power of 100w but more headroom?

The video posted above left me under the impression that the Rumble 100 does not cut in entirely.

I don’t live there but I’m pretty sure they have cities in the US as well.

Don’t know where you live but pretty sure every country has people who drink drive :man_shrugging:

Anyway I hope it’s an electric bike

Oo Couldn’t say really - you’ll have to try them out.

The Elf combo is definitely more portable though…

Final Update

Got an Ibanez P300H Amp (2kg) and a AMS 101 Box from Markbass (8kg) as well as a BB1X Pedal which was thrown in the mix relatively cheap.

So for less than 500 Euro I got many options of distortion/overdrive effects and a 10kg rig with 150-200W of power.

I am looking forward to test it on the weekend

Thanks to all of you for the help given

Just a feedback on the elf combo. Could test it this week and the fan is just too loud. I was on a haul to compare Music Man HH stingray and VM/TM from Sandberg.

Tested a few amps and found the optimal thing. Markbass 121 Pure with 300W (500W with an external Box) and 10kgs total weight. Unfortunately its 950-1000 Euro. But this would be my future rig if my AMS 101 reaches its limits.

For the Bass, the Ken Taylor 4 ist my Pick. Similar body with the MARUSZCZYK Jazzus but less cost. Powerhumbucker got much punch without the twang of the Stingray. Also the 3 Band EQ make a difference.

All the best.
