Method for figuring out bass part of a song?

I would look up a chord / lyrics tab for the song, start by playing whole notes, then 1/2 notes, quarter notes and work your way up to solid 1/8th notes. The beauty of the bass and drums is the instrument is purely improvisational for beginner & intermediate bassist. I have 10 different grooves over 3 skill levels for BB King Thrill is Gone and they all sound great

It’s a bit of an old thread, I know, but seemed the best place for this. I’ve been looking at two of what seem to be the more popular tools for splitting bass/vocal/guitar/drum lines out of a track, namely Lalal.ai and Moises.ai. Sadly, though I prefer the subscription structure of Lalal, I think Moises does a better job. Below are a couple of images showing the results of each on Wonderful Tonight. Each image runs from top to bottom - Lalal, Moises, Complete.
First the Bass only tracks:

And the second shows Bass removed tracks:

Two things stood out from this to me, both visually and to my ear.

First Moises is quieter or maybe Lalal has amplified. And second, more importantly, the Moises one looks and sounds cleaner. There appears to be a lot more noises on the Lalal one and, indeed, it sounded to my ears much more ‘warblely’. Note that the bass line has a lot of rests and/or staccato notes in it, clearly seen in the Moises separation but not so clearly seen in the Lalal one.

Just thought it might be interesting to anyone considering these two tools.

When you upload a song into Moises it sets each track volume to 75% or so too.

Moises gives you 5 free tracks per month. I split out the tracks. Boost the bass to 100% and reduce the other tracks.

Then export that song as a track. I practice with this track to get the timing right.

When I do a cover I export another track from Moises with no bass. I record my bass line. I then mix the two tracks in my DAW as the finished track.

Moises is very powerful and free. I can’t speak for the other software.

Yes I noticed that but I did boost them up to 100%. In fairness I think it was more the case of Lalal boosting them above the original.

This is pretty much exactly my plan but if I move to paying then I rather preferred Lalal’s model of buying minutes which then persis until you’ve used them all.

However I think I’m more inclined towards Moises as I think the quality is significantly better.
