Paul… it’s funny how I stumbled across this post (gotta love the internet), but I did, and I read it all, and just wanted to say thanks for your kind words. It seems like you were speaking positivity about it all - when it might be easy to trash somebody attempting to ‘make something’ to help people, so just wanted to say thanks. And the beta group is actually going killer, 11 members, and the engagement is bananas, which is really cool. I’m having as much fun, honestly, as playing in front of 10,000 people doing live gigs. So anyway, just wanted to respond to you directly and give you a shout out. Cheers. -Murphy
Joe, you said it - “if the program’s goals align…” THAT is the key focus for almost anything in life. What is your INTENT? If you don’t have that, then you’re just wasting time. And you are wise to say that when you “dish out a serious amount of cash” that you actually pay attention more, taking it seriously, and get better results. I know it from personal experience. The saying is: “If you pay, you pay attention…” How many free things just fall by the wayside? Don’t get my wrong - I love free things! And I will continue to make free content always on my YouTube channel. Anyway just wanted to swoop into the conversation and say hello. -Murphy
Hey Murphy. I’m glad the beta group is going well! I’m excited to see the responses and progress on youtube! I thought posting about it on here would be a good idea since a lot of us here who have completed Josh’s course are looking for an intermediate/advanced class. And it was really cool to sit down and have a video call with you for an hour, it really was special. Best of luck to you!
It depends what you are receiving in return. That’s the main point for purchasing anything, right? a pack of gum, a new car, a Fender P-Bass, a trainer at the gym, dinner, music lessons, a surfboard, a vacation… What’s the point of all of it? To enhance your life, I think. I am attempting to put together something that (in my humble small opinion) doesn’t really exist anywhere.
My program isn’t for everyone. It’s a private group and I am (at this point anyway) hand selecting people who I think will be a good fit. At my price point, I don’t need a ton of members. I’d rather have the right members. I also love and will continue to make free content ($0) on YouTube, and affordable content ($300), on my website, but I like things that come in 3’s, so yeah… I have a premium offer too!
I can only say that we are having a blast. Life is short. Work hard, follow your dreams, and don’t forget to enjoy it.

A wise question…
I guess it would depend on how good the weekly “Pro” teacher is. I think I’m pretty good. Definitely worth more than $50 a week.
$55 at least. : )
Also, if you’re just guessing about how the group lessons, “Seems like some sessions” then it’s hard to understand how fantastic they might really be. Or how horrible. Okay fine… They’re “amazing.” Sure I’M biased, but I could be using their words now.
And on the point of “what you actually gain from a rock star” I have no idea either, as I really don’t know what constitutes one [I know what you mean] But I do consider myself a massive music fan, and obsessed musician, songwriter and bassist, and a person who is having a good time leading other people on a journey to discover a deeper meaning to being good at music, bass, and life.
Thank you for chiming in.

Jade girly 2k, Target audience is bassists who are unhappy with where they currently are, and can’t stand it anymore. They want CHANGE. They want to get to the next level playing AND writing, all the while connecting with other like minded musicians in a encouraging community, keeping you accountable, boosting your confidence, so you don’t have to do it all by watching random videos alone… or trying to find the right in-person teacher.
(If you find a great in-person teacher GOOD FOR YOU.)
I never did, and so I had to go another way. That way, and how it got me to selling 10 million albums is part of what I’m teaching and sharing in this group.
Thanks for your comments!

Steve,
I like your goals.
