New arrival

What a gorgeous bass. Schecter makes excellent instruments. Enjoy it and congratulations.

Thank you @ChadGlass
Just put it down again. It’s certainly becoming my go to bass but tone wise it isn’t as versatile as my Ibanez.
I seem to be collecting basses along these lines but I love playing them.

That DV-4 is COOL! I had never seen one before.

Did it come with that case or did you order that extra?

I hadn’t either @eric.kiser!
I just loved the shape of her. Sort of like a Gibson Grabber but with a set up very similar to a Ray with the single humbucker. The model has been dubbed the Devil Ray elsewhere on the internet.

It came with the case @PamPurrs. A real bonus as she lives at the back of the couch in it just so my wife can keep walking into it :joy:

I just read these are 14.8 pounds! Does that seem right to you @Mac?

Yeah, since DV-4 is the model Devil-4. Now you are comparing it to a Ray, it peaks my interest  more.

14.8lbs sounds pretty darn heavy tho. Guess I could test my personal theory that a few lbs couldn’t make that much of a difference (to me). But I am amazed they would set out to make a model that heavy considering weight is often a selling point for people. On the other hand, more mass means louder bass, and possibly more sustain. I bet it doesn’t have ANY neck dive, unless 2 of those extra lbs are in the headstock.

No where near that weight @eric.kiser although I have no scales to weigh it I can certainly say my Fender P is a fair bit heavier as is my Rick. And now you’ve peaked my interest you just know I’ve got to find out :joy:

No neck dive either @T_dub. Overall a very well balanced bass with loads of sustain especially since changing the strings to the pressure wound GHS ones ( still prefer my flat wounds though)
If this bass is any indication of the overall quality of the Schecter range I certainly see another one in my future. Is that a bad thing?:joy::joy::joy:

Can’t find any references to weight online although a few reviews saying how light they are

Schecters are AWESOME. I have never played one that did not feel RIGHT to me, and I have picked up many different models. Sadly, I don’t have one right now, but someday, I am sure to get another.

It was from Amazon.

Item Weight: 14.8 pounds
Package Dimensions: 52.2 x 19.1 x 4.9 inches

This was probably including case and packaging for shipping weight.

Ah that makes sense @eric.kiser
The case although ABS plastic is probably as heavy if not slightly heavier than the bass :+1:

My Shecter’s shipping weight was 15 pounds; it’s 9 something.

Yeah, it’s deceiving.
They should change it to Package weight, just like they say Package Dimensions, that does not include the bass, why should the package weight?

Aw man. They even made one with two humbuckers. I’m not digging the tribal design fret board on the double buck version. It’s too busy for me. I like the dots on yours better.

This thread is bad for my GAS. One last question @Mac.
Does it have a bolt on or a set neck? Can we have a picture of the back?
