I could be covered if I wanted to spend all my spare time, which is a lot of spare time getting worked on. Benefits of having a best friend that is a tattoo artist. But i never took advantage of that. we do work when time is right, and we both feel like doing it and I get amazing work for the price of friendship. I don’t like have things in my mind that I want all the time either, so I don’t rush pieces, I don’t have drawn out sleve pieces, but he works a little on them at a time and they fiill in nice, but I need to know what I am getting, and I don’t go over there every time to ee him, knowing what i Want, and just hang out instead, or let. him make money on others.

If he is slow, he end up making me get in the chair, cuz as soon as we start up , It is like clockwork, and once we start up, some money walk in the door (paying customers), so I can end up just getting 20 min touch up of fill in and then he makes his rent money.

Looking back at the pictures, I am asking, what more space do you have on your head?
Maybe on the back, or are you going face?
My buddy should be coming over on Thursday to do my other friends arms, so you never know, I could end up with something. Could be touch up, could be working on something unfinished, could be a whole new piece, could be nothing, only time will tell.
I am trying to think of a good spot to put a bass clef. But that would be quick and easy, with the set up already, I can have that popped on anywhere.

I’m having the “white “ parts of the original tattoo shaded and the gap between the 2 side pieces and the top piece filled. Then hopefully carried on down onto my shoulder caps with a view to a back piece :scream:

And I was trying to remain incognito 🥸 :joy::joy::joy:

My wife agrees but apparently I’ve had a hard life since then, my beards gone white and I’ve let myself go somewhat :joy:

Ancient Greek word Atheos. Got this after a few years of religious studies.

I was going to tattoo the chain around my neck with the lock in front, and possibly some of the carvings he wrote on himself.
We were looking at a bunch of pictures of Sid to see if we could find the detail of the lock, if any.

We were in the shop, late at night, listening to Smut Peddlers, while scrolling thru images of Sid. We keep seeing the same ones, over and over, and looking for something new. Right when we refreshed, and saw the thumbnail of this picture, we both kind of pointed to that, and we clicked on it

AND
As it enlarged, the Smut Peddler song was ending, and John Ransom says (after the singing)" I will take that right now"
We looked at each other, and said, “lets do it”

Then, we were still looking for other pictures of his carvings on his chest, that he did with a razor blade.

We could not find any photo’s where it was legible at all. You can always see some of it, but never all of it, and it just doesn’t make much sense. I am pretty sure it is upside down, due to him looking at his chest while he was doing it.
If not, it is probably backwards, if he looked in a mirror. The movie with Gary Oldman shows him laying on the bed doing it, but nobody really knows how or where he did it.

BUT, we wanted to put some carvings in red ink on his chest that was going on my chest.

In the end, he wrote, or started to write something from this Smut Peddler song.

So he wrote “Fuck You Tha…” and sort of trailed off with illegible carvings.
I don’t agree with some of John Ransom’s views, I do love the Smut Peddlers.

One of the best concerts I have EVER been to , maybe 4 years ago, was The Gears, Fang, and Smut Peddlers. Amazing.

I love the flames making up the devil-girl’s suit, especially! They’re all adorable, @John_E

Here’s mine. Not pictured is the deer-skull flanking the right side of the axe on my tricep in the same style as the human skull. I drew the flash artwork on all of these (except the Nautical Star, obviously) and had various artists doing the actual tattooing. Haven’t gotten a new one in several years, but I have a few ideas.

We had that discussion on another post about Viking symbols and associations with “certain groups” that I almost jumped into. All of these are none of that, but since I’ve got an arm covered in runes and Swedish words, I will say that the stories I could tell on that subject and stupid people would fill a book.

Well to say I’m angry is an understatement :rage:
Contacted the tattoo guy today to make sure all was going ahead as planned ( we’re out of strict lockdown tomorrow night) and he’s not even drawn the new piece up yet!
So I told him to forget it and refund me my drawing fee and deposit.
Initially he fumbled about with excuses of no refunds etc but once I explained he had not fulfilled his side of the deal and asked if he liked his shop in the same condition he left it the money strangely got transferred to my bank

It always amazes me when small business owners leave money on the table.
It’s an all cash business, I’d be hustling to “print” that money like the devil is chasing me.

Oh man, that sucks.
It is also a shit deal to have to resort to this to get an honest refund.

I hope you have some other artists that you can go too.

Just about to start my search for a different tattooist. I have found a so called Celtic specialist but he’s a good distance away and I’m not driving atm so I’m reliant on my better half. Can’t really expect her to sit and wait for 5-6 hours while I get ink

Understandable.
Unless you find one next to an outlet mall or a nail salon so she can shop and get pampered herself.
