Pedal chain

I’ve had an old DOD compressor and DOD chorus pedals forever, I’m adding a strobo stomp tuner and a mxr m80 DI pedal. Any suggestions as to location in the chain they should go?

This is probably the most straightforward chain:

Tuner > Compressor > Chorus > DI

(you can also swap the compressor and chorus for more natural dynamics or put the chorus in the fx loop of your amp)

Yeah I would absolutely try and do chorus after distortion but that’s just me.

Is that like saying I need more than one bass?

I believe the formula you’re looking for is n+1

I run my chorus before drives and 2 (the really crazy sounding ones) of the 3 reverbs on my board come before drives too. I intentionally set my pedalboard up to do shoegaze, and reverb into fuzz is pretty much the standard for the genre.

Yeah, it makes sense you set up your chain based on what you play/like. Having 3 reverbs on a board sounds kinda mad to me tho

 Tbf, one is either a soft focus or reverse reverb, the other is a Meris Mercury, which just does the absolute craziest stuff you could ever ask a reverb to do, and the third one is taking up a slot on my Tc Plethora, that I’ve just got set as a general purpose hall reverb. I’ve only ever had all 3 going together when I’m just screwing around. I run a couple of delays on that board too, setting those up to fight with each other gets some cool sounds.
