Plugins I Have Known And Loved

Once they are registered with the vendor they will have accounts to log in to to find necessary info. If you buy somewhere like PluginBoutique they keep it too.

My problem is I now have like 900 vendor accounts

Does anyone know whether Kontakt (the full version) ever gets on sale?? If so, I’ll wait

Yes, frequently, and Black Friday sales start in like a week

Looking for a sampler and sample library?

There’s basically three main choices there, NI with Kontakt and UVI with Falcon are the best. A distant third is Steinberg with HALion.

NI has the broadest sample base, UVI has the best overall instrument (Falcon is much more than a sampler), and HALion is actually quite nice.

Just picked up Kuassa Amplifikation VVV because 5150

Black Friday 50% off with NI Massive as the free gift, not bad. Massive still sounds great despite age.

Good… I thought so, but wasn’t sure.

Yeah, there is stuff available for my MIDI wind controller that I could be interested in. And, lots of other good libraries as well :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Yep it’s the biggest sample ecosystem for sure. Might want to check out Falcon and the UVI stuff too but Komplete is the biggest.

Yes naturally, I love a 5150 and everyone else should too!

Is everyone sorted into either loving 5150s, cranked Marshalls, or dual/triple recs? Or do some people love them all?

I kind of lump them like this:

5150
SLO-100

Marshall
Orange

Fender
Vox

I’m finding myself leaning towards the Marshall sound. The Vox is my least favorite.

Fender and Vox are also quite different and I greatly prefer Vox. I actually really like the AC30 sound for music it fits in to, and the UL730 is part of the sound of Joy Division.

Fender I think of as simple and clean with scooped mids.

This is pretty cool - for anyone into “analog” recording on your computer:

You can basically get it for 49 dollars, if you use the Custom 2 Bundle, which gets you two plug-ins for 99 dollars.

Don’t know if anyone caught this but NeuralDSP appears to be having their definition of a “sale” - new customers can buy 2 plugins and get 20% off, returning customers get 20% off everything - not sure how I feel about that as I’d be a “new customer” - but there is also a coupon code “THEDOWNBEAT” that seems to be functioning for 30% off.

I got as far as adding DarkGlass Ultra to my cart for a total of EU 69.3 before realizing that the EU:USD exchange rate sucks and it’s like $80 USD (even though I’m in the US, their site seems to want me to make the purchase in Euros)

Still a deal but I’m hopeful there’ll be something better as we near Black Friday - though my inner realist doubts it.

They’ve typically done 50% off all plugins for black Friday and for their spring birthday sale.

I’m gonna keep an eye out over the month- I’m hoping for that 50% off as I’d heard about it previously and am interested in picking up either/or DarkGlass Ultra or Parallax.
