@John_E : what is an equiv program for windows?
moises.ai is a website. You don’t need to use an app. There’s another one that is similar too, but the name always escapes me… Oh - splitter.ai. I used moises for the tracks that I prepared for the 50 song challenge.
Yeah, this… how can people critique it if they can barely hear it (since so many songs are mixed where the bass is almost hidden…)?
Thanks @Old_WannaBe It’s actually a surprisingly comfortable bass to play for its size, although remarks have been made about me overcompensating
That’s a nice little bass you have there yourself - and with a surprisingly full tone! What model is it? I’m feeling a twitch in my GAS…
PS can’t wait for the director’s cut with the headbanging unicorn
it’s basically a plugin for your DAW (Reaper). @howard created a great topic about that : Plugins I Have Known And Loved
Depends here. You can give it enough boost to here it clearly. Too much and one (at least I) get distracted by the bass volume. And I feel it’s still very critique-able unless I struggle to here it at all

great work ! but not sure it could be considered as covers … for partial/incomplete covers, there is this other thread : Post your practice fragments!
Nice progress @garron.abernathy44 ,
Don’t know any of the songs🤔
But Liked the tone and improv on “honey I’m home”
Cheers Brian
Thanks
Trying out the Fuzzface…
All treble (bridge) pickup and a lot of help from the B7K to boost lows and cut all the highs.
Nice finger workout @Old_WannaBe ,
Don’t know the song, so not sure about the tone in the mix🤔
As mentioned it is hot,
Cheers Brian
Nice tone from Ricky John @John_E ,
Don’t know the song, but your bass line fitted nicely,
Cheers Brian

Been working on this for a while. I used Moises on this one to pull the bass track. Recorded straight into my Focusrite Scarlette ii. No amp sims. Used a dynamic EQ and pumped the bass and cut the treble because my action is super low and I was trying to get rid of the clik clacks. Also original recording is very bassy without much gain. Bass is a little higher than even in the mix.
Let me know what you think.
Interesting tone. I’d be careful cutting all the highs out of fuzz - not sure about the fuzzface, but one thing that some more famous fuzz pedals add is a bunch of higher harmonics that are kind of characteristic of their tone. Various versions of the Big Muff are famous for this, for example.
Trying to match the original here which is very, call it, “low fuzz”. Give the original a listen to see.
McCartney’s previous fuzz tones were all treble and highs and no bass but on this track on Abbey Road he did something different and it’s not your normal fuzz and not Big Muff type for sure. Due to the very limited pictures and videos of the final Abbey Road sessions no one really knows for sure how he did it. I even asked the gear expert who literally wrote the book on Beatles gear, Andy Babiuk.
Beatles Gear: The Ultimate Edition Book — Andy Babiuk's Fab Gear.
Spent about an hour in his shop in Rochester messing with fuzzes and talking to him on how to get close.
