Post your covers! (2019-2022)

This is my goal song, which I am nowhere near able to play yet.
You did a great job, love both basses too.

Have you seen this version?

Thank you for posting it!

One other thing I noticed is your Streamer sounds just perfectly set up. Just the right amount of growliness on the frets, without buzzing. Sounded great.

yes and with elixir strings it is just perfect!

Hi Bassbuzz friends,
Please find the link to my latest cover.
Darkening of the light is taken from the 1990 Concrete Blonde album “Bloodletting”.
The song is in 6/8 time, which took some time to get my head around.
I really like Johnette’s smooth vocals on this one.
I decided to use the stingray on this cover as its what Johnette plays on a lot of their songs, so I wanted to try and replicate her tone in my own style.
As usual all feedback is welcome,
Keep on Rockin,
Cheers Brian

Very nice tune.
You and the Ray did it justice.

I’m not really familiar with this band, but have heard the name. You did a great job and that Ray sounds really nice.
I left a comment on your site as well.

Thanks John @John_E , Toby @T_dub , Pam @PamPurrs ,
Concrete Blonde only really had mainstream success with “Joey”, IMO they were a very underrated band, they are from right around the corner from Toby, downtown LA.
Johnette now lives in Joshua Tree.
Shirl & I have seen them live twice, at the Fonda Theatre in LA and at the Palace in Melbourne, both in 2010.
They recorded 8 studio albums over the journey.
I have done covers of a few of their songs, i just cant remember which ones now
and will probably do some others into the future.
Cheers Brian

Well played. Nice song. Time sig, tempo and key sorta reminded me of “House of the Rising Sun” (I found myself singing that lyric before she started hers!)

Smooth cover @TNKA36 :sunglasses:
For some reason I didn’t think you’d added the HH to your family just a standard MM
Are you still using the original strings on her?
