I’ve had the darkglass ultra plugin for about 2 years and only tried it briefly one time. I was going to use it a few nights ago but it wasn’t installed on my desktop PC that i play on most of the time… so i went to DL’d it, installed it, installed iLoc and couldn’t remember what my p/w was and didn’t want to reset it. Checked my mac and it wasn’t there; must be on my other laptop, lost interest and gave up.
That’s how i spend 98% of my time playing on yousician, anytime i do anything else i end up wasting more time than playing
My buddy just picked up the Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra AUX a few weeks ago for $250 CDN. Not really my kind of pedal but a great deal!
Im a big fan of the Sans Amp Bass Driver and for the reason you mention above … simplicity! And it sounds great to my ears too. It also comes with some preset selections. Pleny of info both in these forums and online.
BTW, I’m a johnny-come-lately to this thread, but a great option on the cheap end of the scale is the Harley Benton Bass Expander DI.
$100, and it includes a preamp with Vol, Wet/Dry mix, bass, treble, mids and mid sweep and gain. Also includes a basic compressor, ground lift, input db (0 and -10), 1/4 in and out, aux in, bypass in and TLR out as well as a headphone jack.
I was considering it at some point. I then read some complaints about noise/hiss and decided to look elsewhere. But if you’re happy with yours then maybe it was a lemon, or there were some issues that they fixed.
@eric.kiser Yes, Providence replaced Genzler. Both great preamps. I prefered the Providence. In my opinion the EQ settings on the Providence were more audible to my ear. Genzler was much more subtle to me.
Having said that, couple months ago I sold all pedals and purchased Zoom B6.
