The circle of 4th will be your best friends…or enemy.
The Circle of Fourths is definitely one of the best bass friends you can ever have.
Okay so I should use Chord Tones instead of Music Theory by Talking bass.
Do you also use Cyborg Bassist Volume 1? Is that good supplement before moving to Chord Tones? Since I’ve planned to get that one so I may familiar all notes on my fretboard.
Chord Tones Essentials is a deep dive into how chords are constructed, and how they are used to create bass lines over chord progressions. But the course delves into much more.
Ultimate Theory for Bass Guitar Complete is one of Mark’s latest courses, and it is a comprehensive study of music theory as it relates specifically to bass. It contains a wealth of information and is well worth studying for any player interested in the foundations of playing.
As for Cyborg Bassist ebooks, I have all three. They are not courses, but volumes of etudes or exercises designed to expound upon Mark’s Scales Essentials course. Think of them as add-on studies for that course, essentially a bunch more and expanded exercises to practice. But, to your question: they are best used following Scales Essentials as then they will make the most sense.
Fantastic. For now I’ve been working my Sight Reading, Ear Training and Cyborg Bassist. I use them just only for 30minutes per day. Probably those courses they worth it to spend time alot because I want to improve my playing style. Thanks again @MikeC once I completed them, I’m gonna proceed another level Chord Tones then Scales Essentials.
