I just wanted to take a moment and speak to all the Buzzers who may be skittish about posting a cover in the Post your Covers thread.
When @terb started that thread, I think he meant it to be a place where all of us, regardless of where we are in the learning process, can post something that we’ve accomplished, and perhaps get some constructive advice or critique with which to improve ourselves.
It’s not a talent contest. It’s not America’s Got Talent or Britain’s got Talent or Mars got Talent. There is no panel of judges to insult or embarrass you if you’re not perfect (like we see on those shows). Nobody here expects your covers to be “studio grade”.
With only a couple exceptions, everyone in this forum is an amateur bass player, and striving to improve. We are here to help one another.
So don’t be bashful. You won’t be slammed if your cover is not perfect. Worse case scenario? You get some great advice and your next cover will be even better.
Nice post @PamPurrs. Personally I haven’t posted any due to not being able to remove the bass from songs. The only decent one I have recorded was a song that originally had no bass (so no bass removal dramas) but I can’t post that because it kept getting flagged as Copyrighted material. Also, you really have set the bar very high with your videos (although @JerryP used 2 different camera angles on his latest cover) I anticipate “Battle of the Music Video Producers” coming soon. 
Are you posting on YouTube? They are notorious for their draconian copyright rules. Try Vimeo, they are much more cover friendly.
I’ve posted a couple of covers, but I’m a bit stuck as to how to actually record the video really…Do you just record the audio and then use that as a guide track and then record the video and combine them in a video editor…I’ve done that a couple of times before, just wondered how other guys did it.

It depends on how complicated the bass line is. If it’s a simple one, I just record the video and audio together, and then do the post production. However, I have found on more complex bass lines it’s frustrating to be recording the video and make a minor mistake or imperfection somewhere and have to record the whole video over and over again until I get it perfect (which gets quite tiring). So I started recording a perfect audio track in Reaper first, then shoot the video separately. If I’m able to get through the video and lay down a perfect audio track at the same time, I use it. If not, I just overlay the video over the previously recorded audio in my video editor (Premier Pro).

I second what @PamPurrs stated. I record my videos using the same method as she does. My process is something like this:
Learn the song.
Try some test recordings to obtain the tone you are looking for.
Record and mix the perfect audio track (I use Garage Band). (And by ‘perfect’ I mean something that’s perfect for you.)
Record your video.
Sync the audio & video (I use iMovie).
And some flourishes (Title cards, etc.)
Your Done!
This is not the only way to do it. It’s just the way I do it.
Have fun with it!
I used to hate to cover songs when I was younger. Now, I have found that by playing covers I have unlocked various different styles and techniques in my playing I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Then recording your cover does another great help to your playing that is watching yourself so you can see visually if there is anyway to improve a pattern or fingering, are my notes clear enough, timing, well you get the point. So no matter your skill level record a cover even if it is very basic or even partial, then watch it and share it because others will be able to help you find things you might not have seen.

Could someone post ZZ Top covers? It looks like Dusty Hill plays a lot of root notes (8th and 16th). But other than La Grange, I can’t hear what you are supposed to be locking on to. I am EXTREMEMLY new at this.
