Resuming Lessons After Broken Finger

I need advice. I flew through almost four modules of Beginner to Badass…then broke a finger on my fretting hand. Haven’t been able to play for a month but feeling good now so ready to resume. But where to resume? I feel too rusty to just pick up and go. Should I go back to the beginning? Noodle around for a couple weeks then resume from where I was? Forget it and keep going? I did try to repeat the last workouts I did but was pretty uncoordinated from the time off.

where you left off.

If too hard, go back a module.

Still too hard, repeat until you grab on again.

Be patient - let yourself get back up to speed.

How broken was it? Any pt involved? If so, follow the doc’s advice.

The finger will let you know if pushing too hard. Which digit was it?

I’d start over. you need to break in the fingertips again, sorry for the pun, it’s not a given thing. Each time you stop, you need to pay the toll to the bass Goddess.

You’re not too far in, so going back isn’t redoing a whole lot. You can take a look at the sheet music and extended tracks in the extra materials and play through the early stuff again to get a feel of where you need to go back to if you don’t want to watch the videos all the way again. I actually do that regularly anyway just as a reminder/warmup.

Thank you all for the advice. It was my pinky playing basketball.

Avoid basketball. ;^)

Start over. You will probably have got through them if you started again yesterday
