I don’t care about the search function it’s the 3.5mm jack they removed that makes them jerks

Nearly all browsers on iOS use Apple’s webviews, because it’s the only way to get decent performance. So it’s unlikely a different browser would help.

and the fact that you have to buy expensive adapters to connect with old or non apple stuff.

In responsive design, the same web page can be rendered multiple ways depending on the size of the screen on which it is being rendered. In this specific case, the cutoff appears to be 380 pixels wide. If you are below 380 you don’t get the search icon. The iPhone SE mentioned as an example has higher physical resolution than that, but the viewport size is 375, so no looking glass.
