There’s a lot of bands doing interesting things.
That bass he has is a Carl Thompson, a SUPER boutique Luthier. Currently has a several year waiting list to even buy one (and people are paying like $10k for them)
To tag onto a couple of discussions, here is a self produced group who create their own loops on stage. It’s good music. the Ting Tings
Previous discussion has me in mid-2000s mode
I love Bloc Party for love songs. They do them very well
I love drummers that hold their stix traditional marching band style like in the All That Remains Video, it looks too cool. It is kind of like (to me, imo, no offense to anybody intended) bass players that use their fingers instead of picks. I just like watching both of those play more, it is more entertaining to me.
That Black Keys song, (I have not really listened to them before, just never got turned on to them) king of reminds me of Black Sabbath meets Steppenwolf. And that is a good thing in my book.
It’s actual Friday here, so here’s some local shoegaze. Band is called My Dead Girlfriend (死んだ僕の彼女).
the full album : Ghost Tapes #10
I’m positively impressed.
Two songs from me that still send shivers down my spine to this day. The first from the great Led Zeppelin:
(13) Led Zeppelin - Since I’ve Been Loving You Live (HD) - YouTube
These guys are like the Godfathers of post-rock at this point.
Second video from me today form the only guy ever who could play Hendrix better than Hendrix - Stevie Ray Vaughan:
(13) Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing (07/11/1983) - YouTube
what about Pelican then ?
Very definitely another one, along with MONO.
and Red Sparowes, and Mouth Of The Architect, and … …
Haha yeah there’s not exactly just a few
I mean, at this point, most of Pelagic.
ooooooohhhhh… thanks for the heads up!
Happy Friday Bass Buzz Friends - We Made It!!!

Listen to John Avila keep the band together while Danny Elfman and tribe rip into the New Wave pace. Remarkable musicians here and I was very fortunate to reside in Sunny San Diego during the hight of 80’s New Wave. And Tijuana was so righteous back then. Very safe and loads of college kids cutting loose. Further south, Ensenada was the weekend adventure hub for sure. Live New Wave Concerts, Cutting Edge Reggae Shows, And accommodations for pennies on the pesos.
Anyway, be well this week and turn up your favorite tunes,
Cheers
