I posted that one last month, but thats the thing about lard, there is always enough to go around. the challenge is to find a fork.
I wish there were more bands that wanted to have that sound again today tbh.
Pop can be good, that it rarely is drives me nuts.
Oh I would have killed to see this back in high school
Drummer and bass player totally locked in on this one….
If you want your mind blown you should listen to their new wave/synthpop
(yep that’s Al)
Actually really good. Al hates it now.
Their electroindustrial a little later on was even better (really good actually, I think their best work, segues right in to Revolting Cocks’ “Big Sexy Land”). Starting to get there by '84:
to full-on electroindustrial by '86:
That dude has been stylistically all over the map.
A new video of an old classic just released on the Motörhead channel on YT
A day early, but I needed a pick me up. The song that made me want to play bass. Simple, silly, and catchy.
That’s a hell of a bass line! I’ve never heard of MxPx, but dang, that’s worth learning!
The story is that the bass line was what the bassist/lead singer would play to pass the time everytime the guitar player broke a string (which I guess he did quite frequently) . Eventually it morphed into a song.
I love the tone of that bass, a fave.
If I wasn’t playing bass, I would pick up a Shamisen. That percussive note0really cuts through a mix
Beni is a very good player
A song by a woman who was refused piano lessons as a child because she wasn’t talented.
Probably a good thing, she might have sucked if given lessons.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Could be right. She wanted to be classical musician and had to settle for being an icon.
I saw them in Bristol in the late 90’s. A mate dragged me along, never listened to them. Very impressed. I now have their back catalogue.
Same guy also dragged me along to Pendragon. Same result.
