Speaking of the fabulous Chemical Brothers. One of favourite music videos is directed by Michel Gondry. He listened to the song then cut the train journey shot so that various objects would match up with the beat / various instruments. So the traffic signals match the drum beats etc Magic.

That cover is what re-launched the popularity of the song. It’s pretty amazing, considering all the “capabilities” of a toy trumpet.
If you listen for it, the video I posted pays tribute to the one you posted. There’s a toy trumpet playing a part in there.
If we’re still talking favorite ChemBros, I still have to go back to the roots with Exit Planet Dust.

There’s your tie-in to both Dead Can Dance and This Mortal Coil
(the main vocal sample is DCD’s “Song of Sophia” backwards and the other samples are TMC’s cover of “Song to the Siren”)
Liz Fraser and Lisa Gerrard make for prime sample material.
There’s a great version of The Ghost from that same gig.
@Mac
Great tune. As always, 3.1 seconds of the video show the bassist. But finally it is us, invisibly supplying the tremendous groove…
I’ve been lucky enough to see them live and the whole band lived up to the hype.
Probably the best I’ve been lucky enough to see in a long time.
Ghost was amazing @HowlinDawg
I’m absolutely positive that my chops would immediately get 10x funkier if I had a turban like this
Saw them on this tour back in 91 I think. Hammersmith Odeon. Damn fine gig!
That would have been an awesome venue to see them at @Ed
This chick has an amazing voice
I’d always owned the English versions of Computerworld and other albums, but you know, I think the original German version flows better. Which shouldn’t be surprising I guess.

At least for the vocoded part, “Computer Liebe” rhythms better than “Computer Love”, to me anyway.
Hard to believe that was like their eighth or ninth album by then.
Neil Young on one of his lesser known songs…I remember it as a teen being transfixed by the oddity of the song and the fact that Neil never sounded like this.
My favourites are Autobahn and Trans Europe express. They literally are journeys across Europe by train and along the autobahn…
Bad. Ass.
