I never really got into punk, except London Calling would be one of my deserted island album bring-alongs.
In the late 70s punk was a refuge from disco
SoCal punk took off in the early '80s (early bands formed in '78 or so) and was awesome. Same with other parts of hardcore. A lot (not all, but a lot) of the good punk still around from the earlier '70s was trending post-punk by then.
I listened to Gershwin and Tchaikovsky, and played world music to fall asleep to. Hearts in Space I believe was the show I played.
Iām always happy to see that Iām not the only one who knows who the Dead Milkmen areā¦
They are both delightfully and repugnantly juvenile
(great for pissing off adult supervisors when youāre a teenager at youth group)

My time to share one of my favourite songwriter ever Lucio Battisti (a genius). This one in particular has a killer bassline who defines the tune. Very simple but so effectiveā¦Cheers
Not all autotune is bad
Still my favorite Perfume after all these years:

Nakata was on a roll then. Capsule had just trended that way too at the time.

I think this is my favorite song. I was so mad when the video came out, Perfume so copied Babymetalās Karate, and Babymetal wasnāt really established yet, but it all worked out.
The thing that always blows me away with Perfumeās dancing is when you realize theyāre doing it in heels.
As far as manufactured stardom goes, those three are pretty awesome. Really talented and definitely being produced by the right guy.
I saw them twice and I am enthralled by their movement. The angles their bodies down to their fingers are so accurate.
When you look at manufactured groups like the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Sex Pistols, its just another way groups are formed. Has a bad rap. What matters is the music. Plenty of bad music from many organic groups too. Its just a thing.
Yeah. The crazy thing about Perfume is they sometimes play up the clockwork thing about how precise they are. Itās kind of uncanny.
Itās great that now that they are in their 30s they keep evolving their sound as their fan base grew up with them. Theyāve been doing this for 21 years now and are better now than they have ever been. Maybe they are androids
May be androids.
There was a segment on J-Melo 7 years ago or so where three girls from Morning Musume learned part of a Perfume song, and one of them, Riho Sayashi asked Mikiko Mizuno how long it took Perfume to learn a dance. Mikiko said they would come in, she would show them the steps, and in 3 hours they were ready to perform it. Wow.
Riho then asked about Babymetal, and Mikiko said two days. But Mikiko would come in, Babymetal would show her the steps they came up with, and then they would refine it over the next couple days with Mikikoās guidance.
Mikiko is a genius. Only the best can adapt to the artist.
