Show Us Your Basses (Part 1)

I think you’ll find the 'wick pickups pretty good, even on a Rockbass. That one is passive, otherwise I would recommend upgrading the preamp instead. I bet that one sounds awesome as is though.

Just saw that MM is discontinuing the stingray classic and old smoothie. Sad, but understandable. They said the new stingrays outsell the classics about 40 to 1.

Yeah, any new stingray I would get, whether it is MM or Sterling, I am getting one with black hardware.
unless it is that orange one, but I may custom order black hardware on it if I were to get it.
fortunately the Sterling Stingray 34 I want is the black ash, and it comes with black hardware. It might be my next Ray

Here’s my current bass (TRBX 504):

Favourite practice amp and Covid beard:

And I found a picture from 1992 short before I went on nearly 30 years of bass hiatus.

Ibanez Soundgear 600.
Duct tape because… Eddie van Halen

Someday I’ll get a Warwick too. As a teenager I fell in love with their shape esp. Fortress and Corvette.

Dude, I also use the vox headphone amps and I’m rocking a TRBX 604, I don’t have a covid beard because I always have a beard but those are excellent choices!

My beard is also permanent. But it’s grown bigger and bigger the last months

Thanks T - I dig those Fender Buttercream and Yellows and Oranges more, maybe for the next one. Listen to me already … next one! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Lester, wonder if today’s Squire is as good as those old MIMs? I really don’t know. Mine seems solid and was set up nice, back in the day. Feel like I paid $250 ish for it, but maybe it was $350

I don’t know to be honest. I have not played the MIM version. Mine has little quirks about it that I would definitely change, one is I need to shield the electronics and I bought it used so it has some minor wear and tear to it before I set it up. I used to love the MIM Strats though when I predominately played guitar, I actually liked the way they played better than the American series.
