@itsratso do you mean the Sterling? So far, loving it. Good for practicing. The HH is also good, but mainly for when my back is not killing me.

Sounds like a plan @Sully3169

Ok … so I’ve been wanting a short scale to play on and when my granddaughter comes over she wants me to show here stuff and loves playing with my acoustic guitar but this way she can play bass with Papa!
I was going to get an Ibanez Mikro but college buddy of mine called me from LA and we were talking and as it turned out he has thing with Jackson guitars and his band made a call and said I can get you a Jackson JS1X Concert minion bass for 129.00 Brand. New with the Jackson gig bag for it. I couldn’t pass that up and figured if I don’t like it it would be a great present for my Babycakes! It arrived today and I am loving it.
It definitely is small like playing an electric guitar. I am finding so far I prefer playing with a pick though using it. I cranked out some AC/DC and Judas Priest and it sounded great! Guess time will tell if it stays or becomes a :gift:!

Thanks @howard … That’s my 2 passions fitness and playing. And the nice thing is my basement is split into 2 rooms. The front room is finished with a fireplace and my bass lounge ( along with his and hers ellipticals) and the back half is the weight room with everything needed to never have to go to a gym (a real blessing when Covid hit!)

Man I miss my gym more than almost anything else with Covid. I was going every day and making good progress. It’s been closed since March and I lost almost all of it. Looked in to getting a pullup/bar dip rack for home but I don’t have space even for that. So I am down to isometrics here, and kind of fell out of that habit too. Need to get back on the ball.

I’m new to the forum, so it took me a while to see all these basses here!
I’m a masochist that came back to bass after a loooooooong time (almost 20 years), and now I’m practicing re-learning again (with Josh-sensei’s help).

This was my first bass, I bought it when I was 15 with all my savings at that time lol

Fender MB4 - Japanese PJ Bass 1992

Now, with a, probably, no so popular opinion…
After starting the course, I wanted another bass and, after some research, I decided on a G&L L2000…
…searched a bit around my area (I live in Argentina) and found one in a music store.
I went there, it was pitch-perfect but in a greenish color that I didn’t like it that much…
…at the side, I saw a blue burst L2000 tribute and had to try it out…
I tried both basses side by side, with the same amp and seemingly new-ish strings and I liked the tribute sound more than the regular L2000 (i tried parallel/serial, boosts, and some of the multiple configs you can get from these basses).

So, long story short, even knowing the tribute is the ‘cheaper’ line, even if it has a thicker neck, I went for the blue burst tribute (even the price difference was quite small because of the crazy economy here in my country).

Here it is! My new partner!

Looks absolutely beautiful :star_struck:
I must admit that I am a bit confused by the pickups…

yeah that’s Kent Armstrong Hot Lips lipstick pickups (Danelectro style). the seller told me that they sound pretty much like Jazz Bass pickups but with more clarity. anyway the body and pickups are in the standard Jazz Bass size so I can change them if I don’t like them, we’ll see !

at least I love the look
