I’m sorry, but where are you at?
At my home currently
Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina
LOL, I asked for that.
Yeah, wow, I didn’t realize BassBuzz reached that far.
(Not taking a US-is-the-center-of-everything approach, only that Josh is in the US.)
Oh you guys guys here are good, actually great, on TalkBass I was asked if it’s near Virginia Beach.
We’ve got BassBuzzers from all over the world.
Sometimes I weep for humanity.
In all fairness, it is easy to “make fun” of Americans not knowing European geography. In a more nuanced approach, we might find that first of all, the average US citizen might never have a chance to go to Europe, so why know every little detail? Second, there are so many (smaller) countries here; you can easily pass through three countries before having to fill the car - was that Luxembourg or Liechtenstein? Third, do we (Europeans) know, e.g., all the New England states and where they lie with respect to each other? Do all of us even know the sequence of the Baltic states? Or what exactly became of “Yugoslavia” (unless you are from that region)?
(And let’s not even talk about, e.g., South East Asia or Africa - that would be embarrassing for most )
And now back to the thread: here is my Yammie (in case people hadn’t seen it yet ):
Even us have no idea, it’s a shitshow here
That’s awesome Yammie, which model is that? I’m looking for something like that atm. I gotta know if it fits my budget.
It’s a TRB5Pii - finest Japanese craftsmanship It’s from 2009; not many out there on the used market. The latest I had seen had asking prices of around 2200-2400 USD (but that might be a bit high…)
Keep looking
But it’s a beauty.
Good work buddy-I’m envious.
That’s a nice looking bass!
Bah
My beloved SBV, old or new BB, Attitudes, TRBP4s, old RBX and MB’s, and for guitars SGVs, Pacificas, Revstars, SGs, so much there that’s great. And I would love an old SA-1000 Super Axe:
And then there’s the DX7 and CS-80; two of the most iconic synthesizers ever made.
Consistent fantastic instruments for decades.
@Growl have you tried Muziker? They ship to Bosnia and Herzegovina:
They obviously got confused between Sarajevo and Dubrovnic
I haven’t seen that model before.
Undoubtedly, the prettiest Yamaha bass I’ve seen!
I think it was discontinued at least 10 years ago, maybe a bit more…
@cheeze_pizza Any pros and cons to the Jino? Likes Dislikes since owning it? I have been eyeballing this for many moons and it is available to me in Asia.
I have a good relationship with guys at this Croatian retailer. They find me anything I want. Always buying from them.
Lol
I really love the Jino Bass @toughdoody . It’s the bass I wanted from Day 1 but price, logistics, and uncertainty about my bass journey all kept me away from it.
Pros:
With the preamp and 3 pickup setup there are many different sounds that can be dialed in. The H pickup in isolation gives the Fender a bit more of a Sterling sound. It’s a really hot pickup as well.
The neck is smoooooooth and kinda chunky. That 1975 U shape is substantial! Not sure if this is a pro for you but for me I think I like it better than the C shape.
Sounds good with the preamp off
If you are into heavy music or slapping stuff I think this pickup would shine for you!
Cons
Not sure the actual weight, but this sucker is no joke!
This isn’t a big deal since I can adjust the EQ at the Amp, or move my fingers away from the neck and towards the bridge to manipulate tone. When the preamp is on, you have bass boost and treble boost available.
I managed to score a great deal on mine when the Yen was at it’s weakest point a few months back. I hope you can find a good price as well if you decide to get one.
That’s about all I have for now. Hope that helps.
