Dark tort looks alright. My mint Ibanez tmb100 is just fine with it but now I want a tort guard for my 60s vibe P to give it more of a 70’s vibe…
I want a tort colored car.

Japanese P Bass from the “international color” series Fender did a few years ago. Fender Japan is best Fender, and I love this neck. Smaller than a standard P, bigger than a standard J. It’s the sweet spot.
Nice. I had a MIJ Hybrid II myself.
NBD. Now I see why these are so often recommended. My new Yamaha TRBX604. The finish is really beautiful, but doesn’t look very impressive in the photos. Probably need to take it outside in the light. I had a black strap hanging around, but not sure I like the black on black. Any ideas?
I would do skulls or roses
Nice TRBX!
Nice looking Yamaha. If you lean towards something subtle for a strap you could consider another leather one but in a color that matches the rosewood fret board.
I may need to finally pick up a Couch Strap. It is not too heavy so I don’t think it needs a 3" strap.
Very nice! Congrats! I have one myself.
Happy to meet all of you! I wanted to show you my first bass, a 2002 Fender '62 Reissue Jazz Bass, crafted in Japan, in Ocean Turquoise. Admittedly, I was drawn to it on looks alone but once I picked it up, it felt amazing. It’s way more solid than the rental I was using before and I feel like I can move much more freely around the neck. Now comes the fun part where I learn how to use it! Let me know what you think.
Great bass! Nice find. My first bass was a used '63 Fender Jazz that I bought in '67. My mother gave it away for free when I was in the Army. Fast forward 45 years when I picked up playing the bass again. For nostalgia reasons, I bought a MIM (Made In Mexico) Fender repro of the '63 Jazz. Forward to the Past instead of Back to the Future, but so it goes. The one thing about that bass that I forgot was that I had to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod. What a PITA. I suspect your '62 repro is the same. I hope you don’t have to do any/many truss rod adjustments. If you do, it’s like sighting in a rifle.
I have a couple of old squiers that the truss rod adjusts at the heel. Ive always done the above. I just saw a video where they loosened the strings, but instead of taking the neck all the way off, they just loosened the neck screws enough to give access to the truss rod screw. I think I’m going to try that next time and see how it goes.
Or both!
Lignum basses are made in Croatia. The 5-string fretless they are building for me is making good progress. I texted Gustav (owner and luthier) late last night after Croatia beat France 2-0 in a UEFA Nations League match in Spit. He texted back with a big grin emoji and 4 progress photos. My bass is waiting for its satin polyurethane finish. It’s going to be gorgeous!
beautiful, that headstock reminds me of a bongo. which is my favorite headstock. what’s the scale?
@TheMaartian that horn is epic. I love it. That is a gorgeous neck.
With all that length and the bass probably about 8 pound ish. It’s quite remarkable.
