I bought ANOTHER bass!!! 
I bought a used 1989 Ibanez EXB 405 bass guitarā¦ because I like this old headstock style. I told myself I wouldnāt buy another bass till I at least get good enough to warrant the purchase, but this thing showed up at the local Guitar Center last month and I had to get it. I spent an extra $160 on the setup, fixing the tuner (the original owner tried to rewire some stuff in it and messed it up) and adding some Black Beauties strings to it. I brought it home yesterday and all I have to say is, āThis bass is frigging amazing!ā The polished neck is nice, slick and thin. It sounds good (with what gear I have) and the action (after being adjusted with the setup) is great! Itās also super lightweight! I am looking forward to playing it more!
The Nezuko plush toy was a gift from someone in Japan when I was there in 2023. I thought she would look cool hanging from the headstock.

I totally get it. My second bass was my reward for sticking with it for 6+ months, and it was a bit of nice background motivation.
On the other hand, waiting meant I almost didnāt get the bass I wanted soā¦ maybe itās better to just go for it.

You should always remember the formula N=+1 where N is the number of current bass guitars you have currently and the +1 is a constant.

Every day in this bass world opens up a new rabbit hole for me to fall into but Iām trying to temper it somewhat. I donāt have the technical chops to get a fretless just yet (unless itās the right fretless), but I should be finished B2B in a week or so, and then the real learning begins.
I also need to get comfortable with changing strings and setup before I buy anything else. Iāll get to learn that next week.

I thought the same, but got one a week ago and itās surprisingly not hard to pick up. I was practicing the 1-month challenge riff on it and it went really well. Also, canāt get fret buzz and clacking without frets!
