Yeah. @Barney mentioned another Police song earlier. I think a lot of Sting’s bass lines fill this niche. They’ve got about maximum harmonic and rhythmic complexity in the most condensed structure possible to be able to sing while playing.
Really want to get my band to do some Police songs, because we’re a power trio with me on bass and vocals, but our drummer is too intimidated by Stewart Copeland’s drum lines.
(Copeland has a very distinct style, and VERY different from our drummer. Who I think reminds me most of the drummer from Silverchair.)
