Actually it sounds like a very hard bias on one of the transistors. On some fuzz there is a trimmer (little pot inside the pedal) to set this bias.

(actually I like that. I have a bias setting on my GI Fuzz, and I like to set it so hard that it gates the signal, like on this sound sample)

That’s very possible, yes. A bad solder or something like that.

I think you should deffinitly do the troobleshooting voltage measures, as indicated on your PDF.

I just had a look on the schematics again : the Wool pot is actually here to manage the bias bypass for the Q2 transistor :slight_smile: Your problem is most probably here, near C3 and R5.

Thanks again @terb, super useful! As soon as I get a multimeter I will definitely do some testing and I’ll also have a closer look for bad solder joints. Special attention to C3 and R5!
