I’m practicing a song that has a few bars with an Eaug chord. I’m playing root/fifths and the chart on my wall says that an Augmented chord is R 3 #5. So my root/fifth should be E/C. Is this correct? It sounds right when I play it.
Also, what is the difference between F+ and Faug?
Thanks!

Hi Jerry,
An F+ and an Faug are the same. They just have different way of notating them. The Aug chord has the "Root, a Maj. 3rd and an Aug. 5th.
An “Aug” interval is created by raising the top note of a Perfect interval by a half step.
So “Yes” it should be E/C.
Hope this has helped.
