Here’s mine for the first eleven months

Number one song has its reason to be there. It’s the song I sang on stage for the Blues Express this year

top 4 are legit but I only listened to like three Cheap Trick songs, lol. They are in a couple playlists though.

But no way they topped Joy Division or the Cure.

We’re all unique… my top ten albums (I don’t think anyone here even recognizes any of this  )

My listening age is 64 (from listening so much to 70s music, though I’m 50 years old)

I wasn’t surprised my “top song” was Chameleon by Herbie Hancock, because I was practicing it so often on bass, though I don’t really “like” it. It is more as an exercise. I was sure this would end up in the list. These are actually the list of what I had been playing on bass. Except for the Twilight Sad, that one I haven’t played, I just have listened to it a lot.

The Cure is really my top band, and I have listened a lot to numbers 2 and 3 too. I like Nirvana a lot too. But Talking Heads is there for a small number of songs I apparently listen to very often.

All the top albums that showed up in the 2025 wrapped list are from The Cure, no surprise there, but they aren’t in my order of preference, it’s just what I listened the most this year.

I listened a lot to The HU, and Wet Leg. I’m surprised they didn’t make it to any list.

Still wondering how Cheap Trick got in my top 5

Probably even more than you would think. I have one song in the top three that is there because of playlists :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

911 minutes though… That’s almost as much as my number one band :scream:

I am thinking it was collateral damage while playing through other playlists yeah.

I had a reasonably “heavy” year but The Hives were a nice surprise. I used to listen to them heaps, but that was probably 20 years ago. Their new album in August really hit the mark with me and played it quite a few times.

XRC pushed Metallica from the number 1 spot they had last year for me. Something about his album that I say is for people that like their music to smack them in the face.

I also played a lot of Daily Mixes or new release mixes so had quite a bit of variety.

It said my listening age was 72 based on listening to stuff from the late 60’s but don’t remember listening to much at all from the 60’s - had quite a bit of 70’s with Black Sabbath after Ozzy left this world.

Average daily listening was around 90mins.

Just saw YouTube’s 2025 wrap up. You won’t guess what’s my number 1 channel. :star_struck:

PS: I plead guilty for having watched many of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke videos. (BTW, the one with Celine Dion was the best. A really funny lady who doesn’t take herself too seriously.)

PPS: iCrimax is one of my grandson’s favorite silly channels.

Spotify wrap-up 2025. Well, no surprises here. I listened a lot to Ziggy (again). This year, I haven’t listened a lot to Metal as I was on the hunt for great bass lines which are often not too easy to hear in Metal. At least I do often find it somehow difficult to follow a whole bass line in Metal songs (but of course there are exceptions.)

Well, I must confess that I’m addicted to the “Oh! Darling” bass line. Anybody knows if it’s true that it was played by George Harrison on a Fender Precision bass?? Really listened more to The Beatles this year than ever before in my life.

Besides Bowie and The Beatles, I really listened a lot to Blackberry Smoke (great bass player), Falco (he was an awesome bass player who loved the instrument) and Mike Oldfield. On YouTube I watched lots of Mike Oldfield’s live performances with the awesome Phil Spalding on bass. I hadn’t listened to Oldfield’s music too much before (even though I’ve always thought he’s a genius), but this year, I really liked it.

Almost 27000 mins, listening age was 40 ( I’ll take it being almost 58 :sign_of_the_horns:t2::grin:)

All these are what I have been working on playing so it makes sense.
