This is the mute kit. It will fit the Sterling Ray4 or 5. You just need to drill baby drill.
it’s on the Classic the Tim C and 90s stingray and Sterling.
So good on funk
Either makes it very weird or proves you really made it fully custom ![]()
I had to look twice, but now I see it. I guess most people won’t even notice it’s a mute kit.
Ah … so you can’t get the bridge separately?
I think you are creative enough to find a fitting bridge
Maybe make one hehehehe.
Both - also kind of the motto of my life ![]()
The pickguard looked like this once:
I had modded the pickguard several times already (going from P/J to HH), and this was before I went for HHH (hahaha!).
You can’t get this as a custom pickguard and - though I have all materials here - I failed miserably in creating my own pickguard from scratch. I’m really not great with a jigsaw - I know this from my time at kindergarden, when dinosaurs ruled the earth!
So I just “adapted” the old one. Several times. And brought great pleasure to this forum while doing it ![]()
Don’t give me ideas ![]()
I don’t think MusicMan and Sterling by MusicMan sell bridges if you need a replacement I think you have to send them in. On the Flea bridge they don’t sell for sure because the serial number is on the bridge and not on the neck plate.
they don’t sell for sure
Meh!

AFAIK Fender is one of the few selling seperate parts next to its complete guitars and basses. There is also the many marketplaces you can look around. Maybe luck will strike there.
So good on funk
Reggae, too!

Check out the Albridge Stingray replacement bridges at Amp Shop Bass Exchange. Some don’t have the extended forward plate, so the mute kit could be mounted directly to the bass body.
That looks like high quality bridges.
I drilled on of my Ray4 and installed the mute kit, it’s not too bad. I was going to make that a sting through but decided against it, too much work at the time and I also would have to order the new longer string set.
That looks like high quality bridges.
They’re excellent bridges made from Duralum with brass saddles. I’m really happy with the one that came on the Form Factor Audio 5 string shorty I bought from ASBE. I was buying a Valiant Mini Bass through them and saw the Wombat on their website, and, well, GAS! I just checked the Form Factor website and it looks like they’re only making bass amps and cabs now, so I’m super happy to have the Wombat. It cost over $4K, but plays and looks like a dream, so worth it to me. Here’s a photo of the body. The brown paper covered the clear plexi pickguard which is perfect to show off the gorgeous Tiger Red top.
