String tension and "tautness"

Thanks for the input, @Gio and @John_E , but it is not that I doubt (at all) that different types of strings have different tensions.

What was baffling me was how the exact same strings (apart from perhaps age and wear and tear) were giving me different “tautness” feels on different basses, and even basses with similar scale lengths.

TI do too, but they are probably still more expensive than Stringjoys :wink:

TIs are far more expensive than Stringjoys. At least twice as much

Yeah, Elixir too.

It finally happened. I broke a string while changing strings and don’t have a replacement set on hand. FML.

I might have… overordered backups in response :rofl:

Luckily not a bass string or that would have been even more expensive. (not to mention difficult)
