String tension and "tautness"

Thanks for the input, @Gio and @John_E , but it is not that I doubt (at all) that different types of strings have different tensions.

What was baffling me was how the exact same strings (apart from perhaps age and wear and tear) were giving me different “tautness” feels on different basses, and even basses with similar scale lengths.

I think that is what led her to really like Stringjoy or Just Strings (can’t remember) as they list tensions on all of their strings

TI do too, but they are probably still more expensive than Stringjoys
