As this thread got revived for a bit, I was reminded to ask gentlefolks @Barney and @John_E whether they had indeed gone through the entire Dan Watkins funk bass course and how they liked it (or not)? Thanks!
I did not.
It got way too hard too fast for me.
I’d call this an intermediate or advanced intermediate course.
I think Stu Ham’s is better for beginner, but, is more slap focused. What I liked about Dan’s is its funk style focused. But at the end of the day it’s a bunch of riffs in funk style to memorize and use as vocabulary for your own lines or improvisation. I struggle with both of these anyway.
