Dammit.
Now this forum is costing me $ in the kitchen too.
I used to be really good at the three sided stone sharpening thing when I cooked my way through college but this thing seems like an easy fool-proof way to actually save money Vs sending out for sharpening. I’ve got a lot of very dull knives.

It’s worked really well for me. Nice and easy and they come out razor sharp!

Thanks I’m really happy with it. Controls the temp perfectly. Not like my last one I had to babysit all day. This was the test run for all that.

Next up- how many pork butts can I stuff it with lol.

For me, the temperature control system is key so I don’t have to worry about losing or gaining temperature. My previous one was a bear to keep at any constant temp. This is a Series 7 (I wanted big so I could cook and vac pack etc) and the temp controls worked amazingly. Pretty even cooking across the whole thing. Huge pink ring in the ribs. Tasty. I was skeptical of pellets but it does the job and heats up quickly. Very happy. Great for the $.

@John_E wow those look amazing! I have no experience using one but now after seeing those babies I’m all over it. You mentioned pellets? Are they buy chance flavoured? They really look amazing. The controls are easy to use and about 4-5 hours is all they need? Also is that he type of smoker you can leave and run around the house and not worry about constantly checking? Wow ! Sorry for all the wow factors but man does that look delicious!!!

Yes, they have them in all the usual suspect flavors - hickory to pecan to special blends etc.

These took a bit on the long side cause I kept opening the door towards the end too much. 6 in total and to be fare i cooked on the lower side (225F) and they were really big for St. Louis cut ribs. 3-5 is the norm and I think they would have been if I wasn’t so impatient at the end (I didn’t eat lunch).

Yep, the thing holds 40lbs of pellets and works on a normal household outlet. 40lbs will get you 12-40 hours depending on cook temperature and outdoor temp. I checked it every hour or so for kicks but didn’t have to, it behaved very well.
