I don’t know if you’ll ever be Victor whatshisname, but you are so wise and funny, and are creating many happier lives. What a gift you are!

I started playing bass 5 months ago. I always wanted to play so now I’m playing. I thought this video touched on some really great points, and I have the video saved just in case I need to watch it for advice. But I’m not even a year in, I can’t even begin to think about quitting.

No clue how I missed this video, but… most excellent dude!
This is one of the most important videos you have done.

Re-motivating is so important in anything.
You can’t be good without suck either. Very important.
Suck begets goodness.
I took a sax lesson from Grace Kelly, who said her old instructor used to say that if your practice sounded too good than you weren’t practicing hard enough.

Thanks for this great lead @mgoldst.

I’m really enjoying this book. I’m also reading The Creative Act by Rick Ruben and they go hand in hand and expand on each other. Both are the sort of book I think we all need to hear over and over to remind ourselves what we are doing here and why.

Really opened my mind up to “just do you and keep going and not worry about perfect”
