If you like that you might like CQ/Tokyo Shoegazer:
Talking Heads (I’m 30+ years late to the party and never got into them even though they influenced so many bands I like), Los Campesinos, Fiona Apple
The Wedding Present – give my love to Kevin
Stereophonics – dacota

The Jam – start! (Paul McCartney’s best bassline)
Johnny Kid & the Pirates – shakin all over

No idea why but it’s stuck in my head
On a Hofner kick today
One for @jonathanhaynes43 this popped up on my Ipod today in work and I’d forgotten how great this is.
Getting away with it
All messed up
That’s the living
@Barney terrific song and a great E string-only bassline.
This…is guitar, i know, but…ah. Gee.
I’m so into bandcamp radio / shows these days.
It’s everything I want from music libraries: human curators who know the genres and scenes creating killer playlists and doing interviews with musicians/label owners… etc.
This show is a best of 2021 vintage reissues. SO DAMN GOOD. Most everything is funk/soul/gospel. If you ever wanted a few dozen reasons to get a P bass, this collection of songs is that.
One of my oldie-but-goodies…also my next planned cover.
Over the long weekend I was shopping and heard this song. I vaguely remembered it to be the Braxton brother do I looked it up. Found the track and been obsessed over it since.
Just finished the transcription it’s 3 parts for bass chords, solo and bass line, well transcription is one thing, playing it is another thing entirely, lol.
Deafheaven’s new album is very different, basically melodic indie shoegaze. The old Deafheaven pokes through in some tracks but in general this is a pretty large genre departure for them. I love it, but understand why fans may not be happy.
I was listening to this album last night while I was finishing up some work. This song was recorded a year before I was born and I’ve listened to it most of my life. I didn’t realize until last year that it is two basses and drums. Later, as the band grew from three to five members they started performing it with guitars and keyboards probably.
And still one of my favorite Cure songs @Paul_9207 ,
Cheers Brian
Faith and Seventeen Seconds are my two favorite Cure albums; that era of The Cure was their peak IMO. I love their later stuff too, but looking at those two albums - just so much good stuff there.
