What are you listening to right now?

Well currently listening to my elderly neighbors apparently having a fight…

So now Om - Conference of the birds, is playing. Just drum/bass/vocals with some Sabbath worship and eastern philosophy influences.

LOL!

The neighbours above us are fighting constantly … and banging doors, throwing what sounds like bowling balls!
My girlfriend and me are lipsynching and reenacting what’s happening above sometimes. Big fun - maybe try that?

The neigbours one floor below come from some oriental country. They are really really nice, but when they have a fight, it sounds like a bunch of suicide bombers preparing for an attac.

It’s nice to live in a multi-cultural, young and poor neighboorhood!

I’m blessed with an good hearing, we live in an attached house from the 60’s, and the walls are about 60cm thick, I can even hear their landline, through the walls when it’s ringing. My wife and daughter rarely hears them go at it, but I always can

Maybe it’s all in your mind???!

That would explain a thing or two…but if course also open up a whole warehouse of pandora’s boxes…

Hmmm … maybe not! I find imaginary things mostly more interesting than real stuff! It’s a matter of perspective, I guess.
Have you tried to contact your neighbours and find out if they are real or not? One way or another, that should be a fun endeavour ^^

Oh they’re real alright. In summer the woman likes to sit in the yard wearing her bra, that’s digging into her shoulders like a tractor track. Not even my mind would dare conjuring up such an image…

LOL!!!

Let’s say “a friend of mine”, when he still did drugs, ALWAYS had a Mariachi band playing in his mind, before he could sleep, at least when he was not totally clear.
He was not a fan of the music and also there was no particular reason for Mariachi sound. It was just there, no reason at all, but relentless!
It was like his mind wanted to ridicule him … you would be amazed what the mind can do, once it get’s loose.

My “friend” gave in and just accepted it one day. Now he has been straight edge for a long time … and misses that very Mariachi band sometimes

Talking about punishing yourself. The drugs I could cope with in my youth, the mariachi band, not so much!

Ah, if the mind plays you wonderful tricks, and shows you who is really the boss, it can be great. Says “my friend”

And: would you rather have a Mariachi band playing or look at the bra of your neighbour?

PS I have a wonderful russian neighbour … but my GF does not allow me to look at her, bra or not

Don’t think I’ve posted this yet, but here’s a link to my annual mixtape.

Pretty simple rules:

  • Songs released 11/1/2023-10/31/2024
  • Has to fit on one CD
  • Finalized around Christmas

This is year 9 of doing this.

Always loved Purple, and if your digging Purple perhaps some Captain Beyond for dessert… :jbass: :sunglasses:

Captain Beyond - Dancing Madly Backwards, another favorite with the original singer of Deep Purple Rod Evans.

Yeah, but it’s not quite the same

Purple back then had that extra something, coming from the fact that the musicians had an extraordinarily high level of skill on their instruments (for rock anyway), and also that juxtaposition of Lord and Blackmore that just created so many (creative) sparks.

They also had the balls to put stuff like this out:

Saved to my Watchlist. What I’ve listened to so far sounds excellent. Brand new for me. Thanks for sharing.

I would say Jon Lord’s “Concerto for Group and Orchestra” is better though  But, that’s up for discussion (as always).
