I found a movie on Netflix a couple of months ago called “Metal Lords.” Could be my favorite movie of the year so far and definitely the most underrated. The song at the end is called “Machinery of Torment” and it is very catchy. Highly recomment the movie. Very funny and lots of great cameos.
He is so under rated…
Maybe among new bassists, but even Lemmy himself declared him to be the finest bassist of all time.
‘graceland’ is an incredible album, and such a great funky bass in this song:
Theme song for a few of us here. Maybe more than a few?

“Getting Old Sucks” - Bowling for Soup
I often feel stuck in the 90s - 1997 was a particularly amazing year for music. Here is a playlist featuring songs released in this magical little pocket of time:
Thank God Al Gore invented the interweb.
Nemophila is playing the Whiskey-a-go-go tonight in LA and streaming it.
Thanks Al
Here’s an old cover by them
Spotify recommendation for me - their algorithm is pretty spot on this time. Super “northern soul” vibes from this track:

St. Paul and the Broken Bones - Apollo
Love these guys
In the last 2 years I’ve had about three or four, “how the hell have I never heard this band?!” moments: Vulpeck, Dirty Loops, Lawrence, and now St. Paul and the Broken Bones.
I can’t believe the Daddies made it on there. Local staple while I was growing up.
cluppo dropped a new single today. Hard to think this is the woman who created Band-Maid
If I were to think of one word to describe Kobato it would be “driven”. I got the feeling she was the main force behind that band (despite them all being really talented). It kind of comes out in interviews, which can trend to her being hyper and the rest of the band being kind of deadpan or looking uncomfortable. Which also may just be their schtick.
She wants to be a star and probably now sees pop as the way.
The more versatile you are the longer you can last until you do hit stardom. Kobato is pretty versatile.
I’m not sure interviews is a good way to gauge that band. Here Misa brings a new meaning to slap
…and then, the DREADED KANCHOOOOOOOOOOO!
Akane actually cracks me up the most out of the band. Though I think Kanami is probably the best musician, with Misa up there too. They are all really talented.
