They still have the clockwork/automaton thing going there though, which is their real schtick.
New Lizzo album out this week.
I generally don’t like much new music, but her last album and this one are just fantastic…solid gold!

Whole album here…
This is a fantastically fine damn album.
Even if “country” ain’t your cup of tea, give it a listen. The whole album is stellar, and some really good baselines and tones throughout.
Check out the Hutch Hutchinson’s bassline, massive slides and tone here especially.

Hey @John_E thanks ‘About damn time’ is fantastic. It will be spinning on the work Ipod tomorrow. Cheers
I started learning the bassline (at about 70% speed). Great fun to play
was enjoying this a lot today (with @Gio on bass):
Great song!
Very nice bass line too. Learning it atm.
Awww, thanks @mgoldst ! I love that EP. Live takes to tape!!! A death-defying way to record. Makes you feel alive!
Always wondered what was going to happen with Rocco next…
its an excellent EP!
Ah, there used to be a “Pain au Chocolat”-named place near where I worked decades ago, long gone now. Yummy baked goods.
Loved the music and video! Gio is so very talented!
It also reminded me of a 1937 “Happy Harmonies” animated cartoon I saw just last Saturday on TCM, “Little Buck Cheeser,” directed by Rudolf Ising. Wherein:
“In this parody of Buck Rogers, a mouse and his mice friends build a rocket to go to the moon.”
The plot was similar, and as with this one, you have to suspend your disbelief to enjoy it. The mice go to the moon because it’s made of cheese, you see. Interesting how these both make the trip and come back with food!
To continue the animated video theme:
Saw Cory live in February - great- but loud (I’m officially old). Ten piece group with five horns in this small space:
It must be hard to be Polyphia. Most bands with an incredibly popular first hit have a challenge to live up to, but theirs was literally the GOAT
When your first song becomes the standard that guitarists measure their complexity by, you kind of have to keep going HAM.
I’ve been seeing press lately of Nemophila being fluffy. One reason is they have a daycare setup backstage when they play for Tamu’s two toddlers. Being mom and a drummer, how metal is that?
