Looks like I’m stuck on New Day Rising-era Dü this week
Great live version with the Foos filling in for Greg and Grant, with Bob Mould as good as ever. Dave Grohl does amazing justice to Grant Hart here.

Kristian Karlsson (bass and keyboards here, also plays keys for Cult of Luna) is becoming another musical hero of mine.
@Wombat-metal Bagpipes and Bhangra is certainly playing in the entrance to hell.
Walked into my local grocery store, and The Waitresses began to play overhead. A stellar moment. The Winter Holiday Season has officially begun.
…hardest bass line eva (on a Christmas song).
Billie Jean ain’t got nuttin on the Waitresses.
Definitely. It’s my fourth favorite Chiristmas song but it has the hardest bassline out of all of them by far. It’s super good and just makes me happy when it comes on. It’s the one that makes me happiest out of all of them, just a cute song with lots of memories.
Yes!
Very apparently not.
The other three that top my list of Christmas songs:

Waitresses’ have the best bassline there though.
Your list does not disappoint!
@MikeC @Koldunya Larry Williams is clearly a brilliant bassist, he’s playing his bass upside down and left handed !
Fairytale of New York is a great Christmas song but always is tinged with sadness for me @howard
To lighten my mood
“Great song tinged with sadness” is a good summary of a lot of Pogues.
Sunny Side of the Street is a classic example. I saw this commercial live when it aired and almost lost my marbles laughing so hard. “Did you fools even try and listen to the lyrics?”

“Well I saw a train
and I got on it
with a heart full of hate
and a lust for vomit
I’m walking on the Sunny Side of the Street.”
I get the sadness about Fairytale of New York though. Kirsty was great.
The Pogues certainly were in a league of their own . Criminally underrated by the mainstream music scene
Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God it’s our last
Those lines always make me laugh every year I hear it.
