A friend of mine gave me this bass probably 45 years ago, said it was a copy of a Fender Jazz bass. Ebony fret board, I built the bridge the original was messed up & I think I painted it black, so bridge & color are not original. Any ideas where it might have originated?

According to Google lens:
This appears to be a vintage Harmony H25 Silhouette electric bass guitar.
- It features a classic double-cutaway body and a bolt-on neck.
- Equipped with a single original pickup and basic volume and tone controls.
- It is a short-scale bass, known for a warm, punchy tone.
- The condition in the image is used, with visible wear and tear.

It’s got two pickups, & no truss rod adjuster at the nut, so I don’t think that’s it.

Lol, yeah Ai is not accurate on a fairly regular basis at present.
Maybe someone homebuilt a Fender replica. It looks a bit odd, but it’s also very old. Those fret dot markers are absolutely massive ![]()
