Tech21 had a real hit with the SansAmp BDDI, it just sounds awesome, and so its clones like the BDI-21 and the Wine Cellar are equally awesome. Enjoy! Those are great pedals.
I seriously considered that pedal when I saw it 2nd hand a few times for pretty good price. its still on the list, someday maybe. I may get the Lunar Phaser pedal first cuz I donât have one of those and I have some dirt pedals., plus that can be Flanger too, not sure how much I would use it, but I like the Phaser, and I have a Chorus pedal.
I did have one of the oldre pedals, and it was amazing, but I didnât keep it due to one design flaw I could not get past.
The 3 band eq, you have to select a button, in order to go from low mid to hi, but the knob goes from 7pm clockwise to 5pm, and you just canât really easily dial them in. if it ws free spinning and just tracked where each one was at, so when yo went back to it, you were just continuing from where you were. But instead you have to do a back and forth, like a 27 pt turn in order to tweak them in.
On the series 1 pedals, you can do that all on you phone, or computer, so its not an issue.
But that Bass Mantra I think it was called, was SICK. And I know the Aftershock OUT OF THE BOX has everything the Mantra had on it, but you can do so much more with it, so I know it is sick.
Awesome, I love it when you like a suggestion . Even tho it was really @terb hat brought up the Wine Cellar as an option. @howard found you the review, and I found you the link to buy it.
That is a great Bass Buzz Team Effort there.
Sorry @terb, I forgot
well fine, that would make perfect sense. if you made it UNITY GAIN so you could use it in a real life on stage situation.
no problem
Guess they listened to their customers base. I wouldnât mind a usb power outlet for charging my iphone/tablet or DAI on top of my amp. I do wonder if we will see more (creativity) of Mesa now itâs parts of Gibson. Putting an aux in and headphone out in an amp is a no brainer to me. Hope to see more product cylces from Aguilar too!
I was looking at the new Phil Jones and Trickfish pre-amps earlier and they donât have it either which is too bad. Would make it much more interesting for bedroom players like me.
Agreed on the Wine Cellar and Sparrow, I hear no difference at all.
Between the BDDI and BDI21 I heard a tiny difference. The BDDI sounds in some presets a little bit more clear to my ears. That doesnât justify the price difference imo, then again they are built like a tank.
Well, the SansAmp sure is expensive, however, if you buy a new one now, youâll get the v2. So it seems weird to me to continue comparing pedals to a model that has been discontinued 4+ years ago
The v2 has an added mid-range control and frequency switches. Is it worth it? I donât know, but I love mine
@Krescht donât get me wrong. I think the Tech 21 is a fantastic pedal and one of the best pedals you can have in your arsenal. Iâm just reacting to Erics post about what Iâm hearing and I think that the difference in sound (not build quality) doesnât justify the price difference. Personally I would rather support the company that created the SansAmp in the first place. The V2 sounds interesting!
@Paul no problem.
You just happened to be the last in the discussion, therefore the quote.
I just donât get it why everybody keeps comparing copies to the discontinued model.
Thatâs what I did, as I can easily afford it. I wouldnât do the same for basses and buy a Fender simply because they created them
I loved my VT Bass DI. I wish I hadnât fried it. Tech21âs stuff is great.
I mean I would be selling it now too, but damn that thing sounded great. Quite different from the BDDI too. Kind of like a cross between the BDDI and the Darkglass VMT.
Ah . . . but I would, @Krescht ! . . . lol
Cheers
Joe
Lol, you talked me into it!
I just ordered the V2.
Long life to free return policies
Well that was fast
You might want to cancel your order and check out the VT Bass DI first. Same company, same features (roughly), sounds much better IMO.
Also has a builtin cabsim.
Did I mention it sounds amazing?
@Krescht, is the 9v power supply center pin positive or negative?
(I want to make sure I have one handy)
@PamPurrs Itâs center negative. Hereâs the information from the ownerâs manual:
POWER REQUIREMENTS
*Operable with phantom power supply, minimum 24V DC regulated, however, 48V DC regulated is recommended in order to illuminate LED.
*Utilizes standard 9V alkaline battery (not included). To install, simply remove door cover. (NOTE: The Input activates battery. To conserve energy, unplug when not in use.) Power Consumption: approx. 6mA.
*USE DC POWER SUPPLY ONLY! Failure to do so may damage the unit and void warranty.
DC Power Supply Specifications:
-9V DC regulated or unregulated, 100mA minimum;
-2.1mm female plug, center negative (-).
If you use an XLR connection to the DAI, you might be able to use phantom power
staaaaph it
Thatâs how I plan to connect it. But, how do I invoke phantom power? (Iâm not even sure what that is LOL
