Which song/bassline got you hooked?

MxPx Chick Magnet

I am always returning to Money by Pink Floyd, Roger Waters

Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Call Me The Breeze”.

Unskinny Bop by Poison. The walking bass line in the chorus is the BEST  It’s not as hard to play as I thought it would be

Unskinny Bop is a great one! Ha, where I lived Poison was the band you didn’t admit to liking at the time, but are happy to now

haha yeah same here. I didn’t care though. I still love Poison and I enjoy playing their songs on bass and on drums.

@Retta75 there’s a really good doco on YouTube somewhere about Poison, and how people used to diss them but they were the hardest working band (or perhaps it was just Bret M) in terms of getting themselves gigs and exposure.

Not any specific song, was introduced to Bootsy Collins; somewhere in the mid to late '70s; that was my lightbulb moment.

Red Barchetta by Rush! Blew me away the first time I heard it.

The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, fairly simple base line, but dang it just grabs you.
