Why does this "work"?

Live music is a different animal altogether. We are all pals but at the same time “I” need to be heard. How? well work around the tonal frequency, you’ll find one that stands out and sound good in the mix. Going louder, just get your a$$ kicked, :rofl:

The only setting with the tone rolled of is the “super dark upright bass” :wink:

I remember something like that, which would allow for a more “even” tone.

This is why the boost the mids thing always is weird to me when I KNOW it’s already up there.

And scooping would probably help even things out - so like a lot of things, it’s relative.

Yeah that’s what I found as well.

It’s boomy and thumpy.

It has it’s use for sure.

So to update you all:

At my last practices (we jammed Friday and Saturday), I used two different amp heads - a Traynor 300w and a Markbass 500w.

I can share the models but it’s more for a general reference.

On both heads, I ended up boosting the bass a tad, and a little treble.

Had plenty of mids (which in my mind makes complete sense now that I think I understand the personality of a p bass better).

Both my drummer and guitarist said not only could they hear me better, it also sounded.

My drummer kept saying: “I could feel your soul in your playing!”
