Thoughts on the B1 Four vs. the B2 Four? Based on price, I’m assuming that the B2 is the better box, and it clearly has more effects/features, but I’m still very much a beginner and don’t know what the different effects really do–which is part of the reason why I’m looking at these multi-effects things so I can learn what they sound like. So for a beginner in these realms is the B2 $150 better, or would I be better off getting the B1 Four (or even the B1X Four) and then maybe later upgrading to the B2?

The B2 gives you a little extra access for on the fly adjustments. Where the B1 allows you to move between patches or turn it on or off with your foot, the B2 essentially treats each patch like it’s own mini pedalboard and you can turn individual effects on and off within the patch as you need them with your foot, plus being able to move through the banks of patches.
B1 has that same ability to turn the individual effects on and off but you have to do it with a finger operation and not a foot operation.
I hope that makes sense.
B1 - basic foot operations. Lots of literal hands on for changes.
B2 - more foot based operations for live changes, plus adjustments and menus accessed by hand.
There are more internal features to argue differences as well. If the B2 is in the budget it will be a better unit. I have a B1, and the B2 would have been a better purchase in hindsight.

In addition to the above, the B2 has a built in DAI. If you’re interested in recording, that’s more $ that you would have to spend, reducing the price difference.
That said, I have a B1 that I could give you a deal on if you want to try it out (assuming you’re ConUS based). I’m happy with the B2, but I haven’t spent enough time with it - I found the B1 very simple to use.

so i have recently got interested in electronic music a bit and following the advice of the bad gear guy was looking at zoom multi efx again, as they are cheap and play nice with a variety of gear. and what i’m about to say has been around for about 5 years now and quite possibly was already brought up here, but i wasn’t aware of it and it’s a pretty big deal. its a way to hack your already cheap zoom pedal (especially if you get one used) to play any effect from any zoom multi pedal. and its free. it is a hack so use at your own risk, but its also been used for years now.
