Today is one year since I picked up a bass. Though I feel like half the time has been wasted because I went from practicing for an hour or two total daily, to really dropping off when we had a very stressful family situation occur and I never fully got my mojo back for anything, bass or otherwise. I did practice now and then but nowhere near what I should have been doing.
So, I’m going to start B2B all over again to assess where I’m at but this time I’ll try harder with the lessons I chose to skip. I think I’ll challenge myself to do the slap lessons.
One thing I did learn, and yes eeeeveryone says this over and over and over but often we newbies have it go in one ear out the other… GO SLOW. While it was both fun and frustrating to practice a little faster now and then, the go slow rule really is golden IMO.
I’m not as active on this forum anymore because I wanted to step back from being at the computer and found my bass practice included hours reading through the forum instead of actually playing But I still lurk to see the awesome covers people do and share in the excitement of seeing new people join this wonderful community.
Thanks to all of you who have read and replied to my questions and offering me and others great advice and tips!
